    Artist, scholar, educator, and community leader Winfred Rembert Jr., the eldest son of the late Winfred Rembert Sr., has been working to preserve and advance his father's legacy as well as continue the tradition of handcrafted leather works with in his own artistic practice. He has had much success. In 1992 he received a certificate of appreciation from the U.S. Congress, presented by Rosa DeLauro. He lead an NAACP march on MLK birthday in 1993 in Paducah, KY and also was been awarded the key to the city of Paducah, Kentucky, establishing the Winfred Rembert Jr. Scholarship. Winfred Rembert Jr. has lectured extensively at museums and institutions throughout the country including Tufts University, Andrew College, Worcester State, Wesleyan and Quinnipiac Universities. His conversations surrounding the nations history and culture identity have inspired many and have appeared at Yale University, Wesleyan, Gateway Community College, NXTHVN, the Connecticut State Capitol, and on CBS This Morning.

    Winfred Rembert Jr. has a deep interest in sharing his family's legacy across generations, in May of 2024, he led a youth initiative in LA titled "Being Unique Is a Gift", and recently he was named the 2025-2026 Interfaith Volunteer Care Givers artist in residence where he will train seniors how to carve, tool, and paint on leather, culminating in a collaborative mural. The artist continues to live and work in Connecticut, with his wife and children and continues to serve the community where his parents had settled during the second great migration up north.
