Other Notes: Born in the Ukraine, Misha Reznikoff emigrated with his family to the United States in 1921. At 22 he enrolled at the Rhode Island School of Design. There, he met Arshile Gorky who would become a lifelong friend until Gorky''s death in 1948.
In the 1930s Reznikoff moved to New York where worked as an art instructor at the Art Students League and the New School for Social Research. In 1935 he joined the WPA and worked alongside artists including Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Ad Reinhardt and Diego Rivera.
