  • Notes: Little is known about Indiana Gyberson. Active in Chicago art circles, she was a member of the Chicago Painters and Sculptors Association as well as the Chicago Galleries Association. In 1904 she listed her address as Sherwood Studios in New York City, the firt year that she exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago. She didn't exhibit again until 1919 at the Institute and continued to exhibit there through 1928. From 1925-1926 she showed at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. No record of her is found after this period. Her art has a somewhat surreal, enigmatic feeling which leaves the viewer enchanted but, temptingly, unresolved.
