Shannon's opened in 1997 as Connecticut's Premier Fine
Art Auction house. Specializing in American and European
19th and early 20th century paintings,
Shannon's holds their auctions twice annually. The auctions,
held in Greenwich, Connecticut, are composed of paintings,
watercolors, drawings, bronzes and fine prints. All
works of art are authenticated and guaranteed.
Gene
Shannon, owner of the company, has been an antique
art dealer in for over 25 years,
as Shannon Fine Arts, Inc. Gene has attained an international
reputation for his integrity and knowledge of fine
art.
In 1997, after many years of dealing with other
auction
houses, he and his wife and partner,
Mary Anne Shannon opened Shannon's Fine Art Auctioneers
with offices and galleries in Milford, Connecticut. In
1998, their daughter Sandra Germain, with her extensive
art, business and marketing background, joined the firm.

Shannon's
philosophy and marketing strategy are founded on their
own experiences as buyers
and sellers in the auction market. The company prides
itself on offering personalized service to its clients.
Extra care is given to helping educate new collectors
and consignors.
Shannon's is aggressively positioned
to compete with New York auction houses in the under
$250,000 art market. The Greenwich location is strategic
in attracting an upscale clientele from Fairfield and
Westchester counties. Shannon's also has a bank of
20 telephones to accommodate live bidding from across
the
United States as well as Europe.
Shannon's client mailing
list is one of the largest in the art auction business.
For each
auction over 30,000 color brochures and postcards are
mailed, as well as over 2000 fully illustrated catalogs.
The current 130-page catalog has been upgraded through
the use of digital photography and in house graphic
capability.
